Each Sunday, at Central Christian Church, during our children's time in worship
we collect an offering. For some time now we have been using these funds to
feed the hungry children of the worlds. This church was introduced to a
really exciting way to feed hungry children in 1997. Heifer International is a
non-profit organization that provides livestock (heifers, water buffalo, goats
and chickens) to needy families all over the world. In return these families
promise to give the first born animals to other needy families. They in turn
promise the same, and so it grows. These animals not only provide food in the
form of meat, eggs and milk products for hungry children, they also can be sold
to help provide money for education and an improved standard of living. Last
year alone, Heifer International helped over 30,000 families in 46 countries.
We at CCC are excited to join this organization in their effort to make a
difference in the lives of poverty stricken children. Join us each Sunday
during Children's Conversation for updates of our progress. We encourage
children of all ages to give to this exciting ministry. Send your donations to
the front with a child or place in the offering designated for "Heifer
Project".
